Fish Porn is your home for fly fishing video on the internet, bringing you all the distractions from work you need to keep up with the fly fishing world.
My boy Ivan from Yukon Goes Fishing drops another piece of gold on the small but growing world that is fly fishing film. As usual, an excellent choice of music and great editing. Cutting edge. It’s that simple.
BOOM. Get your carp together. “Carp Chasers - Carp on the Fly” from Mr. Brownliner.
Some boomers in here and who doesn’t love Tom Petty? Yeah, the footage is a little shaky but you know what? I really dig fish porn and l love watching people get jacked about carp so if I’ll deal.
On that note, if you haven’t caught a carp or at least tried, you’re missing out. Missing out HARD.
Can’t really say much about for/about the music because I’m just a simple American with a weird taste in music to begin with but some of this footage is pretty wild (particularly around 3:15).
Side note: Crystal clear streams set up so great for fly fishing video it’s not even right.
For a while I’ve been wanting to talk about the body of work that a certain crew or individual filmmaker puts together as a whole. Rather than talk about pieces, let’s talk about the whole. Anyone can put a video on a website but I’ll try to take it a little further.
So I’ve decided to create a semi-regular blog post called the “Saturday Spotlight.” I’ll pick a few of my favorite videos from a particular creative group or person and I’ll try to dive in a little bit deeper and see what they’ve contributed to the world of fly fishing video. Depending on how far this goes I may even ask the subject to do a Skype interview with me so we can hear about their videos in their own words.
I’ll make it cool but it won’t be every Saturday for a couple of reasons:
It’ll be a fair amount of work and I like fishing more than I like blogging so until something changes to make saying no to fishing a little easier, I’ll keep going fishing.
There aren’t a whole lot of people who have more than three videos. Hell some of the most successful videos have been one and dones. I’d rather keep this going for a while then run it out in 20 weeks or something like that.
Because it’s my website and what I say goes. Capiche? Capiche.
It truly is amazing that people have died to protect our country’s values. I remember my grandfather taking me to a memorial service every year on this day when I was younger. I’m glad he did because, even if it’s just for a few moments, it’s really important to take some time and reflect on what these men and women have done for our country. The ultimate sacrifice isn’t an easy one to make.
If you can’t make it to a memorial service or something similar today then just make sure the next time you see a solider that you thank them. They’ll appreciate it.
Thank you to all the men and women of America’s armed forces.
Arapaima are the world’s largest freshwater fish. Growing up to 400 lbs, they are truly monsters. And they eat flies. Diiiiirrrrrrtyy is the only word to describe it. Dirty with 6 r’s.
Thanks for the post from Third Coast Fly that inspired this one.
